How to download TikTok videos on iPhone, Android and PC
TikTok has its own Save video button, but the creator decides whether it appears, and the saved copy carries a TikTok watermark. When the button is missing for a public video, or you are on a computer, copying the link into a downloader gets you the file.

Option 1: TikTok’s Save video button
- Open the video in the TikTok app.
- Tap the Share arrow on the right.
- Tap Save video. On iPhone it goes straight to Photos; on Android, to your gallery.
The saved copy shows a moving TikTok watermark with the creator’s username. If Save video is missing, the creator has turned off downloads (Settings and privacy → Privacy → Downloads), the account is private, or the account belongs to a younger teen, for whom TikTok keeps downloads off.
Option 2: Copy the link into VidiDown
- In TikTok, tap Share, then Copy link. Short links such as
vm.tiktok.com/…work. - Open the TikTok video downloader and paste the link.
- Tap Get video. The preview shows the file’s real resolution, codec and size.
- Tap Download video within 30 minutes.
VidiDown saves the video file TikTok serves for playback, compares the available versions and keeps the best one. It adds no watermark or branding of its own. Photo slideshows, private videos, whole profiles and live streams are not supported.
Respect the creator’s choice: if someone has switched downloads off, ask before you share their video anywhere else.
On iPhone
Use Safari for the link method. The file arrives in Downloads, not Photos, so move it across:
- In Safari, the file goes to your downloads. Tap the download icon in the address bar, or open the Files app and go to Downloads.
- Open the video, tap Share and choose Save Video to add it to Photos.
- If Save Video is missing, the download may not have finished, or the file type may not be one Photos accepts. The result card shows the real format before you save.
On Android
- In Chrome, open the menu and tap Downloads, or open your phone’s Files app and look in the Download folder.
- Most gallery apps, including Google Photos, list new videos from the Download folder on their own. If yours does not, open the file from Files and use Share or Move.
On a PC or Mac
On tiktok.com, right-clicking a video can show Download video when the creator allows downloads. Otherwise, copy the address from the browser bar (it contains /video/) and paste it into VidiDown. The file lands in your Downloads folder as an MP4 that plays in any modern player; some newer TikToks use the HEVC codec, which older Windows players may need an extension or VLC to play.
Saving just the sound
Choose MP3 audio under Save as, or open TikTok to MP3. This converts the audio of one video; it cannot download a TikTok sound page or a whole playlist.
If it will not download
Check that the video is public and still online, and that the link points to a video rather than a profile or a photo slideshow. Expired short links can also fail; open them in TikTok and copy a fresh link. See why a TikTok video won’t download for every cause and fix.

Why is Save video missing on TikTok?
The creator has turned downloads off, the account is private, or it is a younger teen’s account. For a public video you can still copy the link.
Does VidiDown remove the TikTok watermark?
VidiDown does not add a watermark and saves the file TikTok serves for playback. We do not promise that every video comes without one.
Can I download a TikTok live?
Not while it is live. If the creator later posts the recording as a normal video, its video link works.
Can I download every video from a profile?
