How to download a video from X
One link. Three steps.
Copy the post link
Open the post containing the video on X. Use the sharing menu to copy its link, or copy the individual post address from your browser.
Paste the address with /status/
Use the field above. Both x.com and older twitter.com post addresses are accepted; a profile address without a post ID will not work.
Check the clip and download
Choose Get video, wait for the playable preview and check that it is the video you wanted. Then save the file with Download video.

X and Twitter refer to the same supported platform here. You do not need to replace twitter.com with x.com yourself. VidiDown accepts individual post links, including supported links that end in /video/1.

Before you download
Protected accounts, profile pages and posts with no downloadable video are not supported. When a post contains multiple videos, VidiDown selects the first; adding /video/2 does not select a different clip.
Do you support completed X broadcasts?
Yes, public /i/broadcasts/ replay links are accepted, as well as supported post links. The broadcast must have ended and its replay must still be accessible. Enable Long video / completed replay for the larger limits.
Do old twitter.com links still work?
Yes. Supported twitter.com post URLs and x.com post URLs are handled by the same downloader. Keep the /status/ portion and post ID in the link.
Can I choose among several videos in one post?
Not in this version. VidiDown prepares the first video in a multi-video post. Check the preview before downloading.
Can I save a video from a protected X account?
No. Protected posts and content that needs an account are outside this service. VidiDown does not use your X password or login cookies.
Can I download an X video on my phone?
Yes, the same browser form works on mobile. Copy the post link from X, open VidiDown in your browser and save the prepared file. Check the browser’s Downloads list if it does not appear in your gallery.
Which links can I use?
Use an individual public video link from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X. Use a published video or completed replay. Profile pages, private archives, playlists, ongoing streams and photo slideshows are not supported. A public link can still be restricted by its platform.
Is this the original video quality?
Best available selects the highest source quality our download path can retrieve and preserves the streams without re-encoding. A platform may have compressed the creator’s original upload. No paid download API is used. A platform can restrict access from our server. Size and duration limits still apply; if the best file is too large, choose a smaller quality explicitly.
Is VidiDown free?
Yes, VidiDown is free. No account or payment is required. Usage limits help keep the service available.
Why isn’t my video downloading?
The video may require a login, have been removed, exceed the displayed limits, or be restricted by its platform. Check that the individual video opens publicly, try a smaller file, or use another link. VidiDown never asks for your social account password.
Where does the file go on my phone?
On iPhone, check Safari’s downloads and the Files app. On Android, check your browser’s Downloads folder. Once saved, use your device’s share menu to move the file. Playback depends on the original video format.
What happens if I refresh the page?
VidiDown remembers your latest request in this browser tab. Refreshing checks the same download, without submitting a new one. The prepared file stays available until its 30-minute expiry.
Do you keep my videos?
Prepared files expire after 30 minutes and are automatically removed. Only your browser session can access your result. VidiDown does not build a public library of downloads. Read the privacy information.
