When a video will not download
Start with the message beside your download. An invalid link, a source restriction and an interrupted connection need different fixes.

The link is not supported
Paste the address of one video, post or Reel. A profile, search page, playlist or group address does not identify a supported file. Remove any surrounding caption text if you copied a whole share message.
For X, the address needs /status/ and a post ID. Instagram uses a video post or Reel link. Facebook needs a video, Reel or supported video-share URL. TikTok supports video URLs and its short share links. YouTube needs an individual video or Short.
The source requires login or blocks the request
A video that plays in your signed-in social app may not be public. VidiDown requests the source from its server without your social account. Private, protected, removed or restricted content may therefore fail.
Check the original post’s visibility. If a public source is temporarily unavailable, you can try later. Changing the quality setting or repeatedly submitting the same request does not bypass a login or access restriction. Never enter a social password into VidiDown.
The format is unavailable or the file is too large
Try Best available when the source does not offer your preferred quality. For a size error, Smaller file may select a lower-resolution source, if one is available. These choices select source formats; they do not re-encode every video.
A video over the duration limit will still be too long at a lower resolution. There is no trimming or audio-only mode. Use a shorter source video rather than repeatedly submitting one outside the displayed limits.
The connection was interrupted
If a request ID was received, VidiDown remembers the latest download in this tab. Use Check this download or refresh the page to ask for that same job’s state. You do not need to submit a duplicate request.
If the initial submission was interrupted before an ID arrived, the app cannot know whether it started. Follow the message and wait before trying again. A full queue or rate limit also needs time, not repeated clicks.
The result has expired
Prepared files are temporary. Once the countdown ends, the old download link no longer works. If you still need the file, paste the original source link to create a new request.
A file link is also private to the requesting browser session. Someone else opening it should not receive your video. Share your own saved file only when you have permission, rather than sharing a temporary VidiDown result URL.
Completed livestream replays
Enable Long video / completed replay for a published video up to 120 minutes and 2 GiB. This option works across the five supported platforms when the replay is available through an accepted public video link. It does not record an ongoing stream or recover a deleted broadcast.
YouTube: copy the finished replay’s watch or /live/ link after processing completes. Facebook: use the public replay video link while it remains available. X: a public /i/broadcasts/ link is also accepted.
Instagram: the replay must have been published as an accessible video post; a private Live archive is outside this tool. TikTok: creator LIVE recordings must be exported in TikTok Studio. Only recordings or clips published as public video posts can be downloaded here.
A platform may refuse server access even when a person can watch the replay. Larger source files may exceed the 2 GiB limit. Choose a lower source quality explicitly if needed; VidiDown does not quietly downscale or re-encode your video.
