VidiDown respects the rights of creators and rights holders. This page explains how to ask us to stop preparing a link. It describes our process in plain words and is not legal advice.
What VidiDown does
VidiDown does not host, publish or index videos, and it has no library or search of other people’s content. When a visitor pastes a link to a public video on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X, our server prepares a file from that link for that visitor’s browser only, and deletes it after 30 minutes. The original video stays on the platform where it was posted; to have it taken down there, contact that platform too.
How to send a notice
Email hello@vididown.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject, and include:
- the work you own or represent, such as the video, song or recording;
- the exact link or links on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X that you want us to block;
- your name, organization if any, postal address, email address and phone number;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, their agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them;
- your signature: your full name typed at the end of the email is enough.
What happens next
We aim to reply within 3 business days. When a notice is complete and valid, we block the reported links so that VidiDown will not prepare them again, and we tell you when that is done. A file already prepared from a link is deleted when its 30 minutes end. If something is missing from your notice, we will ask for it.
Counter-notice
If a link you shared or own was blocked and you believe that was a mistake, for example because you own the video or have permission to use it, email hello@vididown.com with the blocked link, your name and contact details, why you believe the block is a mistake, and a statement that this information is accurate. We may pass your counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. If they do not tell us that they have started legal action, we may unblock the link.
