How it works

How to convert an X video to MP3

  1. 01

    Copy the post’s link

Open the post with the video on X. Use Share, then Copy link, or copy the post address from your browser. It contains /status/ followed by a number.

  2. 02

Paste it with MP3 audio selected

Paste the link above. MP3 audio is already selected on this page, so select Get MP3. VidiDown fetches the video’s audio and converts it on our server.

  3. 03

    Preview and download

Play the preview to check the audio, then choose Download MP3. Keep the page open until your browser shows the download as complete.

Posts, replies and completed broadcasts

Any public post with a video works, whether it is an original post, a reply or a quote. Completed X broadcasts with an /i/broadcasts/ link can be converted too, which is useful for keeping the audio of a recorded talk or interview. X Spaces audio rooms are not supported.

Supported link patterns

Protected accounts, live broadcasts still in progress and posts without a video are not supported. When a post has several videos, VidiDown uses the first. Download audio only when you are allowed to keep it.

More help
What MP3 quality do I get?

A high-quality variable-bitrate MP3, typically about 190 kbps for music, encoded from the best audio track X provides. It cannot sound better than the original upload.

Can I convert a long X broadcast to MP3?

Yes, completed public broadcasts up to 120 minutes are supported. Longer recordings take more time to prepare. Broadcasts that are still live cannot be converted.

Does it work with GIFs?

No. GIFs on X have no sound, so there is nothing to convert. Use a post that contains a video with audio.

Do old twitter.com links still work?

Yes. twitter.com and x.com post links are handled the same way, as long as they include /status/ and the post number.

Which platforms work here?

Paste an individual public video link from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X. YouTube links are not supported. Profiles, playlists, private archives and broadcasts still in progress are not supported either.

Can I download just the audio as MP3?

Yes. Choose MP3 audio under Save as before you select Get video. VidiDown converts the video’s audio track to a high-quality variable-bitrate MP3, typically about 190 kbps for music. A video without an audio track cannot be converted.

Will the video keep its quality?

Best available selects the highest source quality the service can retrieve. The video streams are preserved without re-encoding or upscaling. Quality depends on the source, and the displayed size and duration limits still apply.

Can I save a completed livestream?

Published, publicly accessible replays may be supported after a broadcast ends and finishes processing. Long videos and larger files are detected automatically. Instagram and TikTok recordings must be published as normal accessible video posts; creator-only archives are not supported.

Where does the download go?

On iPhone, check Safari’s Downloads and the Files app. On Android, look in your browser’s Downloads folder. Your browser handles saving the file, and playback depends on the original video format.

Do you keep the videos I download?

Prepared files expire after 30 minutes and are automatically removed. Only the browser session that requested a file can access it. VidiDown does not create a public video library. Read the privacy information.
